Story
My name is Louis Quaintance and I am running the Birmingham Half Marathon on the 15th October in memory of our son Zachary Matias Quaintance who lived 24 very special days in Birmingham Women's intensive care unit last year.
He suffered from a very rare form of congenital heart disease known as heterotaxy (left atrial isomerism).
He was never expected to live but miraculously made it through the pregnancy. We are eternally grateful to have seen him alive and experienced precious moments with him in the hospital but we miss him every day.
Shortly before and after he died, a representative of the charity visited us to take professional photographs of us with him, memories we will always cherish.
We wrote about his short life on our blog http://keepingcalminthestorm.wordpress.com
