Brunel ISoc Charity Run · 23 February 2016

Ummah Welfare Trust was founded to challenge the huge poverty and injustice prevalent in the Ummah today. Inspired by the Islamic teachings of empathy and selflessness, the charity strives to support and uplift the impoverished through the beautiful act of charity.

Story

On Tuesday 23rd of February I will be taking part in a charity run, as part of Brunel Islamic Society’s Charity Week Thobe Runners. During the last few weeks, the world has witnessed shocking images of Syrians starving to death in Madaya, near Damascus.

The images, which include emaciated children, are horrifying. The suffering is heart-breaking. The people of Madaya desperately need our help. An emergency appeal has been launched by Ummah Welfare Trust who operate by a 100% donation policy. All proceeds raised through this will go to the 'Madaya Emergency Appeal' so please donate generously. Know that anything you donate; your reward is with Allãh.

'Give in charity even if it be one date, as this will stop the hunger of the hungry person; and will extinguish sin the way water extinguishes fire.'
Al Zuhd, Ibn al Mubarak

"They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, "Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is knowing of it"" 2:215 Quran
