Rat Race Dirty Weekend · 11 May 2019

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

We will be running 20 miles and tackling over 200 obstacles on the worlds largest assault course: The Rat Race Dirty Weekend at Burghley House; to raise money Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice. They are the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough and provide expert palliative care and support for people who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.

In addition to their inpatient unit, their day service helps people living with long term conditions to avoid unnecessary trips to hospital, as well as offering social opportunities alongside others experiencing similar circumstances. They also offer a Hospice at Home service for people in the local community who prefer to receive palliative care at home.

Whether somebody is dealing with a terminal illness or the loss of a loved one, they're there when it matters. Sue Ryder staff and volunteers provide people with the compassion and expert care they need, to help them live the best life they can.
