Story
Hola amigos!
In February, I am off to Latin America again, this time to Nicaragua for 10 weeks. It's all in the name of a good cause, as I am going to volunteer for Raleigh International on a development programme which is part of the government funded International Citizen Service (ICS).
ICS is a development programme that brings together young people aged 18-25 to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. I’ll be working alongside volunteers from Nicaragua, on a project that aims to promote awareness of sustainable development, clean health and sanitation within rural communities in Nicaragua. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.
In order to fulfil my placement abroad, I need to raise at least £800 before January which I am hoping I can do with the help of you guys! Any donations are greatly appreciated, so please give what you can! With the money I raise from my fundraising, I will be contributing to the Raleigh International programme to enable as many young people as possible from the UK and overseas to volunteer on projects in the developing world and fight poverty.
Check out the great work Raleigh are doing here: http://www.raleighinternational.org/what-we-do/raleigh-ics
I'll be doing a few activities to raise money in the near future, so keep an eye out on my updates!
Let's hope my Spanish improves this time!
Muchas gracias,
Zeme
