Overgate update 18/06/2012
Thanks to everybody for sponsoring our ride and generously donating to the Overgate Hospice, to date and with your help we have raised over £728.75 for the Hospice with more pledges to come in.
The summer of rain leading up to the event made for some interesting conditions, with rivers running through the course, mud, more mud and dislodged rocks interspersed and hidden in the mud! Conditions are the toughest I have seen in that area.
The day itself brought the occasional sunny spells and lovely weather for mountain biking. I am pleased to say we all completed the course. It is a credit to Martin and Stuart that they managed to beat there times from last year. Steve joined us for the ride this year and despite little experience off-road riding completed the course in under 3 hours, coming home in front of many seasoned pros.
You tube clip below of the start of the ride, and someone (not one of us!) falling off;

Overgate update 15/06/2012
Stop press: In addition to donating to the cause Steve Pippard is joining us for the ride. For his efforts he will receive a swanky Zestcare cycling top and guaranteed aching legs and backside on Monday. Thanks to everyone who has supported us and thanks to everyone who is donating for Steve.

Overgate update 12/06
5 days to go to the Overgate challenge and Zestcare have been busy preparing! All bikes have been serviced and we have been putting the training miles in. We rode in the Elland area on Sunday where the ride will take place and it is extremely muddy and slippery to add to the challenge on the day.
Thank you to everybody that has donated so far. Further to the donations on the site thank you to Ruvi Bloom of NewBloom for the £50.00 charity check we will present to the Hospice on the day.

On Sunday 17th June 6 of us are riding the Overgate mountain bike challenge in support of the Overgate Hospice. The Hospice team of staff and volunteers provide a valuable service within the community which is largely funded by donations. http://www.overgatehospice.org.uk/home
In supporting our challenge your donation will assist the funding of the hospice. Last year with very generous contributions we raised over £500.00. With your support this year we hope to better that amount.
The Overgate course is 23 miles of gruelling climbs to the top of the Pennines, challenging off-road terrain across moorland, woods, bridleways and tracks. Your support will be greatly appreciated so please dig deep and donate now. https://www.justgiving.com/Zestcare1
