Story
Dear all,
it is again the time of year - when days get longer, outside temperature warmer and conditions for running milder. And it is also the time of year - when everyone seems to be running this or the other race. Well, guess what - I am one of the bunch this year! I have endured through a (well, by Slovenian standards not an extremely cold) winter full of training days and evenings (and sometimes nights). I won't bore you with the details of my injury last year - but to put it mildly - it has been a painful winter because of it... I have now come to the last week of training before my (second-in-life) marathon. I believe I am ready (although holding no hope for a PB after my hip-injury last year). I have decided to run the Brighton marathon. To make it more than a pesonal feat and introduce the factor of external motivation, I have decided to run it in support of MacMillan. Why MacMillan? I have chosen this charity because I have seen patients with cancer that stood alone, facing the facts, no-one to turn to. I believe no-one should go through cancer alone and MacMillan have been a bright spot in so many patients' lives, including the ones we take care of... I think they're brilliant!
So - if you believe the same and would like to support me on the last leg of my journey to a renewed level of fitness, self-awareness and feeling of contribution - please, donate to support MacMillan. I believe - On the day I will not be alone, but accompanied by all my supporters: my family, my friends, my colleagues, "my crowd". I hope we will be a hundred-strong throng - crossing that line together!
Thank you.
Ziva.
