Zoe's running the Brighton Half Marathon!

Team RISE does the Brighton Half Marathon 2017 · 26 February 2017 ·
Hello everyone !!
As some of you are aware, two years ago I ran my first ever race which was the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London. Considering at the start of my training I couldn't run half a kilometre without wanting to keel over in a sweaty mess, I was proud to complete the 13.2 miles, something I never thought possible.
I am NOT a natural runner, and haven't really ran properly since that race, but things are about to change !
I'm doing it again! This time it shall be the Vitality Half Marathon in Brighton (my new home town) !!! Please help in ANY way you can !! I'll be training over the winter months and your donations, however small, will keep me going when I'd rather stay in and watch Netflix!
A bit about rise ....
I'm running for a local charity called "Rise". Every day more than 10 incidents of domestic abuse are reported and Brighton & Hove Police respond to over 4,000 calls a year. Domestic abuse is still a largely hidden crime. Research suggests just 20% of incidents are reported. The formal definition of domestic abuse is physical, sexual, psychological, emotional or financial abuse that takes place within a family-type relationship.
RISE work alongside victims and survivors giving practical support to help them rebuild safer lives.
They offer practical help ranging from direct advice to refuge space to those in urgent need, also working in schools teaching children about healthy relationships to prevent the next generation from repeating the pattern.
Known for breaking new ground, their specialist LGB&T service for survivors of domestic abuse was the first in England.
Every year they support over 1800 women and their families to recover and reclaim their lives.
RISE is an independent, registered charity founded in 1994 and strives to be a disability and accessibility friendly organisation in everything it does.
Thanks so much in advance!
Love and Light
