Story
I am overweight. I know, I know, I hide it well, but the truth is, I'm rotund. The reason I am rotund is I eat, drink, and spend rather too much time being merry. Well, I don't want to give up on the latter, but I am prepared to sacrifice it for the right course.
The right course, for me, is mind, As someone interested in emotions and emotional wellbeing, I am acutely aware of the role mental and emotional health plays in so many areas of life. Be that the role it plays in trying to stay fit, body image, anxiety and depression and so on. I also know that Mind would really love to help everyone for free, but they can't. So, I thought I'd do my small bit.
I'm going to do this by instigating Noctober. This October I am NOT going to drink alcohol. I am NOT going to eat sweets or chocolate or candies or cakes. I am NOT going to eat crisps. I am giving up those things I find hardest to give up in solidarity with the struggles of so many around the UK and beyond who need help, but for one reason or another cannot get it. I AM going to exercise every single day. Properly.
My diligent wife will be keeping track, and whenever I transgress, that's £10, yes £10 I have to cough up. In return, I ask that for every day I don't stuff up, you do the same.
Just a pound is good (for the whole month if not per day), a fiver is great, please give what you feel you can. By the end I'll be lean(er), mean (most likely) and fighting fitt(sih).
I'll keep everyone updated as I go along, and hopefully, I can do some good.
Thanks in advance!
