We have been offering children a free holiday to Skegness since 1891. Our centre provides a secure, cosy, and exciting environment for children. Children are nominated to us for a wide variety of reasons, such as financial struggles, respite care, recovery from trauma, or support with well-being.

Story

I’m doing a sponsored abseil on 2nd July to raise money for The Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

DCHC is a charity which was established in 1891 to provide Derbyshire children having troubles in their home lives with a holiday in Skegness, Lincolnshire. At the present time it provides 660 holiday places per season.

My late Dad Noel had a very difficult childhood so was fortunate to be taken on holiday to Skegness at the age of 10, this was the first time he’d ever seen the sea and was a much needed break away from his troubles at home.

He spoke so fondly of the children’s centre and the amazing memories he made there, so when I found out about the abseil, I jumped at the chance as I know if my Dad was here he’d have definitely wanted to help raise funds.

The abseil is 90ft and it’s over water, so I am quite nervous!!

I’d be SO SO grateful if you were able to sponsor me.
