Story
On the 6th July 2018, my dad and I will be joining 25 other Beni Mitzvah and their parents on a challenge to climb Mount Snowdon. I love sports and spend plenty of time on a football pitch or tennis court but hiking through the Snowdonia region and climbing a mountain is something I have never done, neither has my dad!
On the first day we will be climbing Moel Siabod which is 2861 feet, and also one of the largest mountains! It involves rough terrain and on the summit has beautiful views over the Snowdonia range. Shabbat will be spent recovering before we do our mega climb of Mount Snowdon on Sunday.
I am choosing to raise money for a charity called World Jewish Relief. This summer is the 80th anniversary since WJR established the Kinder transport. The Kinder transport was the unique rescue effort of approximately 10,000 Jewish children from their homes in Germany, Austria and Czechaslovakia to Great Britain. My Great Grandpa Manfred and Great Grandma Sabine were 2 of these children. If it wasn't for WJR I would never have been born! I had the privilege of knowing my Great Grandparents till the age of 11 and hope that I've inherited some of their strength and determination.
I would be so grateful for your support as WJR continues to help people all over the word and also responds to major international disasters by providing aid.
Thanks so much,
Josh Hamilton and my Dad
