Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This summer, I will once again be join a host of current and past servicemen and women to raise money and awareness for our injured heroes.
This time, the event is at Cudmore Fishery in Newcastle under Lyme.
We are raise not only moneybut awareness for the guys and girls who have offered up not only their personalway of life but also their physical way of life to protect ours and the way weknow it, now they need us more than you could ever imagine.....
A simple donation, not to mebut to the team and they guys behind the scenes won’t make a difference to youor me BUT makes a life changing difference to the personnel who desperately needit.
As ever I will be paying myown way on this, travel and entry fees are paid by me so every single pennydonated will go directly into the charity.
Not only this but this year event has an ** ADDITION BENEFICIARY **
We're able to announce that this year, partof our fundraising efforts will be donated towards the family of L/Cpl ScottHetherington, who died in Iraq on January 2nd, and the first British soldier todie in the country since 2009.
Scott was a member of the 2nd Battalion TheDuke of Lancaster's Regiment (2 LANCS) and was part of the UK's commitment totraining Iraqi forces in their fight against ISIS, however, Scott wasn't killedas a result of enemy action and an investigation is still ongoing.
We were contacted by friends of the event whorepresented the Army team last years and were close friends of Scott, and theyasked if there was anything we could do to assist his young family that havebeen left behind.
A few messages later we were in contact withScott's Mum, Anne, who explained that Scott had become a Dad to Safaya-Rosejust before he deployed, which is a truly heartbreaking story, and we felt thatthe Carping4Heroes family would answer the call to support Scott and his youngfamily and therefore part of our efforts in fundraising will be donated to the memoryof Scott.
