Story

Hello & welcome! Thanks a bunch for visiting my fundraising web page.
I am running the London Marathon on the 17th April to raise funds for Sense, who do some fabulously worthwhile work with deafblind kids & their families.
The marathon is a rather intimidating 26.2 miles, thats forty-flippin'-two kilometres!! So please sponsor me now, any & all help greatly appreciated!
This site is probably the best way to sponsor me. Its simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way - Sense (National Deafblind and Rubella Association) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
In addition, if you are fortunate enough to be one of my Deutsche Bank colleagues :), your money will be doubled as part of the Matched Giving program. Just put 'DB Employee' in the comment section when sponsoring.
Many thanks for your support,
Aidan

Hello again, Just a quick note to let you know that I completed the London Marathon last Sunday(17/04). I managed to hobble through the 26.2 mile course in 4 hours 56 minutes. While this was quite a bit outside my target time of 4 hours, when you take into account the emotional trauma of being passed out by a guy dressed as a Taxi, and a dodgy hamstring incident around mile 17, then I'm still pleased just to have finished. I would recommend wholeheartedly to any of you to give next years marathon a go, it really was a fantastic experience. I would like to thank you all sincerely for your words of encouragement and sponsorship over the past six months or so. Thanks to your generosity Sense will be able to continue the great work they do with the deafblind in the UK, and in particular, to put in place a support helpline for parents & carers of deafblind children. Thanks again, Aidan
