The "Brave"(or stupid) Adventurers

My name is Ajay Gandhi, currently a medical student at Imperial College University, London.  I am aiming to raise £1000 for CAREducation UK, a UK based organisation aiming to provide a basic education to impoverished children around the world. 

My two fellow adventurers are my childhood friends Fah'd Ibrahim (Barclays Capital-London) and Minesh Ghedia (Morgan Stanley-London) and together we are aiming to reach "the rooftop of Africa" (5895 metres) in July. 

Preparations

Training has begun with stockpiles of Deep heat (please feel free to donate muscle balm too!), boots are bought and being worn in, head torch bought and batteries charged! I have little mountaineering background except for a few Duke of Edinburghs...this will be the challenge of a lifetime for me! 

Big training landmarks:

-8k run for bone marrow (completed in 42 mins)

The Cause

I count myself very lucky, as do many of you, for the access we have to resources to pursue our careers and dreams.  However, millions of children worldwide, do not even have access to basic pens and paper for learning or counting.  CAREducation strives to provide a basic edication to some of the most forgotten children.  Further, they concentrate on providing an curriculum which is relevent to those children in that time and place.

I have personally met the two organisation leaders, Bharat Parmar and Solanki, for whom I have been fundraising for the past 3 years with my University Hindu Society.
