Only 8% of people in the UK are LGBTQ+, but they make up an astonishing 24% of the homeless population. Our LGBTQ+ family are 14 times more likely to become homeless than straight people due to parental rejection, where they are at high risk of sexual exploitation, targeted violence and substance abuse. In 2017 The Albert Kennedy Trust provided 6,075 nights of safe accommodation to those in need. We are fundraising to support this charity in continuing their vital work in protecting those who need it most.
