Irish Heart is the national charity fighting heart disease and stroke. Our mission is to affect positive change in the lifestyles of Irish people, to achieve better outcomes for those affected by heart disease and stroke and to challenge when the health of our nation is put at risk.

Story

2023 marks our Dad's 60th birthday and we will celebrate his short but impactful life this year in a number of ways - one of them being getting the family up off their arses to raise money for the Irish Heart Foundation through their February RUN 100 campaign.

In case you didn't know our amazing Dad, Alan Brown, he suffered sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 41 on his way home from a business trip. Far too short a life some of us are now realising as we grow older and edge towards that very age.

We will be using Strava to record the distance ran between us and  we are aiming to do more than 100km each.

Of course, Joshua and Karen will likely be the breadwinners while the rest of us try not to do our knees, hips, ankles, toes and heads in.
