Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court care home in Porthcawl
are organising a virtual ‘Care Home to Care Home cycle’ during the month of
August. Our wonderful staff came up with the idea to complete the ‘Care home to
care home cycle’ to raise funds for our home so we could purchase a specialised
side by side bicycle for use by our residents.

Across the country the RMBI has 18 Care homes. We aim to ‘Virtually’
cycle to each one , a wopping 1195.4 miles ! (1200 miles or 1923.8km) starting
with Scarbrough Court in Cramlington and ending at our home in Porthcawl.
Tracking our journey using a map .

Staff and residents will take it in turns on the exercise
bike which will be located in the main hall throughout the months of august and
September to get us to our target of 1200 miles.

We are always striving to offer our residents the very best
in stimulating and enjoyable activities to enrich and enhance wellbeing. What
could be better than enabling our residents to cycle again (with the safe
support of a staff member)

Shown below is the bike that we are hoping to purchase.
