Tom Rainer, Rob Lawes and I are taking on the challenge of an Ironman Relay on July 8th this year. It is described online as 'one of life's defining races' so I can't imagine it is going to be easy!
The challenge consists of three sections. Rob gets us underway with a 3.8km river and lake swim, followed by Tom's tough 180km bike course (featuring 3,000m of climbing), with a 42.2km run course (Josh), that takes place largely off-road, to finish. We will be working as a team to complete the triathlon as quickly as possible.
We are fundraising for the Aldro school charity, The Dusty Yak Foundation. The foundation aims to relieve the poverty, advance the education and protect and preserve the health of orphans, neglected, impoverished and/or sick children in need in Nepal and elsewhere in the world. Donations will be put towards basic necessities, educational tuition, plus financial, material and logistical support. All at Aldro see the Dusty Yak Foundation as a super charity making a real difference for many people in desperate need of support.
