The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

I was casually scrolling through Facebook when a video caught my eye. It was about a friends daughter who was receiving a human hair wig for the first time since she had developed Alopecia. Alopecia is a disorder that can affect anyone by making them lose all their body hair for no apparent reason, in a similar way to how cancer treatment can make hair fall out. In this case this girl (aged 7) had lost all her hair and was receiving her first wig, which she could style like a "normal girl". I was so touched by how happy she became and how she felt that she could now do girly plaits like her friends, I decided that I wanted to make another child feel like that too. At the end of the day I don't need my hair, no matter how much I love to play with it, whereas some children do need it to feel normal again.
