half beard challenge · 24 January 2016

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Over the past six months the very observant amongst you will
have noticed the addition to my normal chiselled facial appearance. The time
has come now for this to go. For some and in particular my wife this cannot
happen soon enough. However this is going to happen in two phases. For one week commencing on Sunday 24th January
I shall face the world with a “half beard”.The right side of my face will be
clean shaven and I intend to face the world as normal during this time. The
reason for doing this is to highlight the awareness, prevention and treatment
of  STROKE,  the occurrence of which that can devastate
the lives of the individuals that it effects and those who care for them. This
can present at any age with a variety of presentations. My Mother died from a
catastrophic Stroke ten years ago and I felt that I wanted to mark this by
raising funds in aid of The Stroke Association,an organisation that works to
improve the lives of people affected by stroke. They work with stroke
survivors, health professionals and managers, local government and MP’s to find
out what are the issues are for people affected by stroke and create solutions.

Please give what you can so that I can reach and hopefully
exceed my target.
