Story
So a few months ago I decided to sign up and cycle from London to Paris with a friend in order to raise as much money as I could for Parkinson's UK.
My grandpa suffered from Parkinson's disease for many years so I saw first hand the effects the disease can have on people. I have since been inspired to make a positive difference and raise as much as I can for the great charity who help so many people with the disease.
1 in every 500 people within the UK has Parkinson's which is effectively a deficiency in the chemical dopamine which ultimately leads to the loss of nerve cells in the brain and many subsequent symptoms. Currently there is no cure for Parkinson's and so every donation given can help fund potentially life-changing research.
This bike ride won't be easy at all with over 200 hilly miles to cover in just 3 days so I need all the help I can get and this is where you come in! I would love you all to give as generously as you can and every little will honestly help. The charity has a plan to cure Parkinson's by 2014 and change for the better thousands of lives and you can help make this dream become a reality.
Thanks for reading this and please give as genorously as you can.
Alex
