Hello,

To begin I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In July, I will be volunteering in a remote Fijian village for a month, through the Think Pacific Foundation. Think Pacific is a
charity, working alongside the Fijian government in order to improve quality of life, providing infrastructure and education to the people of Fiji and increased opportunities for children, who are almost completely isolated from the rest of the world.

The charity is essential as 75% of Fijian children live below the poverty line, where only 50% have access to adequate sanitation and fresh water and only 5% of children gain an early years education. Furthermore, Fiji is a beautiful and wonderful country, but Fijian children grow up in a world of limited education, with basic knowledge and a severe lack of opportunity. Therefore, the charity replenishes school resources, provides teacher training and helps to rebuild essential facilities. As a result of the volunteers’ time and effort, the project increases standards in education, extracurricular activities and sports.

I will be spending a month in Fiji, living in a remote Fijian village, with a Fijian family, without electricity and day-to-day luxuries. This will give me the opportunity to embrace Fijian culture, support a deprived community and teach the children maths.

I have funded my own flights, insurance, injections and travel to reach Fiji. However, I need to raise £1,100, which will go directly to the Think Pacific Foundation. The money raised will provide countless resources, such as long-term support for the children through purchasing education resources, sports equipment, hygiene workshops, training for teachers and so on. Even the smallest of donations will go a long way.

The support will enable me to achieve my aim to volunteer with the charity and take part in training to deliver the project aims effectively. Any donations, little or large will be very appreciated and go a long way.
