<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, and for your donations and ongoing support.</p> <p>As some of you may know, this is my fourth year of detoxing and generally trying to be healthy to start the year and allegedly carry on that way.</p> <p>This year I am carrying out the same regime, but the charity I have chosen is <a href="http://www.amnesty.org.uk/">Amnesty International</a>.<a href="http://www.wateraid.org/"><br></a></p> <p>Amnesty International are a human rights campaigning organisation. Their purpose is to protect people wherever justice, fairness, freedom and truth are denied.</p> <p><a href="http://www.amnesty.org/en/annual-report/2011/world-by-region">Read more</a> about the status of human rights around the world in the <a href="http://www.amnesty.org/en/annual-report/2011/world-by-region">Amnesty International Annual Report 2011</a>.</p> <p>* * *</p> <p>My specific targets are to give up alcohol from at least 1st to 31st January 2012 (including stopping at midnight on New Year's Eve), give up unhealthy snacks, cakes and chocolate, create a healthy eating plan and embark on at least one piece of exercise every day, whether it be a batch a sit-ups, a run, a walk&nbsp;or a game of sport.&nbsp; This is the routine I will be sticking to every day, so feel free to check up on me.</p> <p>My first year's financial target was &pound;500, second was &pound;750 last year's was &pound;1,000, so inevitably this year's is &pound;1,250.&nbsp;</p> <p>If I don't reach my target amount by the end of January, I will carry on with the regime until I make enough money.&nbsp; Here's a <a href="http://www.xe.com/ucc/full/">currency converter </a>if you need it.</p> <p>I will be eating more fresh fruit and vegetables, chicken and fish, either steamed or griddled without oil, will cut down on carbohydrates and drink more water, fruit juice, green and mint tea.<br><br>I&nbsp;don't want to pressure myself with a specific weight target, but ideally I would like to lose at least a stone / 6 kilos.
