On the 15th March, AKA TOMORROW, 1000 people will run up nearly 1000 stairs to raise money for Shelter, a charity fighting homelessness in the UK. Among the runners at London's Tower 42 will be me and my mother and we are trying to raise 1000 pounds...EACH! Our initial aim was to raise this amount with the help of 1000 supporters asking everyone to donate only £2. We wanted to encourage the idea that whether donating to a charity or giving to directly to a person in need, any donation to a cause, no matter how small, is worthwhile. 

But it was perhaps a mistake to ask those who could give more to restrict their donations to £2- and luckily people who are able have disregarded this! Thank you! We are in awe! So I would say - whatever amount you give, we, and Shelter, will accept it gratefully.

However I think that it can feel easier to give nothing than to give what seems like too little , so we are particularly thankful to those who don't have much to spare on the day they donate, but decide to give anyway. £2 is the minimum donation JustGiving will allow, and every time I have been emailed notifying me of a £2 donation it has filled my heart with joy!
