For over two decades, SOS has worked to create a safe future for wild orangutans and their rainforest home. We support our frontline partners in Sumatra to protect, connect and rewild forests, which are crucial for orangutans, other wildlife, and in the global fight against climate change.

Story

Well, in honour of my 30th birthday this year, I thought I ought to set myself a bit of a challenge and climbing Kilimanjaro seemed like a good idea at the time!

Now, as the October departure date is fast approaching I'm not so sure. I've now embarked on a crash course at the gym to hopefully see me through.

A couple of years ago I visited Sumatra and saw the orangutans. They were such beautiful and curious creatures that I decided it would be truly awful to let them disappear. The Sumatran Orangutan Society help to preserve the rainforest habitat in which they live and look after the orangutan's welfare.

Any money you can give to help this very worthy cause would be very much appreciated. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sumatran Orangutan Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
