I am running the new york marathon for the PC Nicola HUGHES memorial fund, representing North Wales Police. 

As an officer I am constantly alert to the dangers myself and my colleagues face at any times of the day and night, from people that, on many occasions, we are striving to protect. The murders of Nicola and Fiona shook the nation to its core. 

Since this time I have had the good fortune to meet Bryn, and his gorgeous wife Nat. The strength Bryn gains from helping others in the same situation as him is, well, more than inspiring. His aim, to provide children and young adults who lose a family member to violent crime to not lose their opportunities in life. To be able to access the same support and chances that would have been available to them had the crime not have occurred. 

This is a charity that should not exist. Bryn should never have been in the position to need a memorial fund for his daughter. If i can do anything to show my support to Bryn and Nat, and return anything to redress the balance of good against the evil that inflicts society then I will do so. This isnt just about me running a marathon, my support will continue for as long as the charity need it.
