Story
Thank you to everyone for supporting me before and during the day - I couldn't have done it without you all behind me!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am taking part in the Bristol Half Marathon on September 11th in memory of my lovely mum, who died 3 years ago after a brave battle against brain cancer. I started training in April (not a natural runner!), with the furthest I had ever run before being 2 miles, so it will be quite a challenge on the day! The courage that mum showed through her battle will be my inspiration on the day, along with the support of my family and friends.
brainstrust is a UK based brain cancer charity, dedicated to improving clinical care for brain tumour sufferers and providing co-ordinated support in their search for treatment. There are 120 different types of brain tumours, all requiring different treatment options. Brainstrust provides support and advice at the point of diagnosis and beyond, by updating treatment, improving care and, ultimately, saving lives. People can survive brain tumours, but sadly not all the time. Brainstrust is working hard to change this, and any donation that you are willing to make will make a difference.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I am very aware of how often people are asked for sponsorship, but any donation you are willing to make, no matter how small, will be hugely appreciated and really will make a difference. Thank you. Ali xx
