The Clipper 09-10 Round The World Race · 19 May 2009

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and South East Hampshire, caring for 300 children and young adults from 0-19 years of age, both at the hospice and in families’ own homes.

Story

This is it! I've made up my mind, taking part in this unique Challenge of a Lifetime!

The Clipper 09-10 Round the World Race started on 13th September 2009 and i'll be joining hundreds of crew from all walks of life in April 2010 to set sail on the boat TEAM FINLAND from San Fransisco for the last 2 legs of the Race. The first stopover will be the Panama Canal, then Jamaica, New York, Cape Breton Island (Nova Scotia), Cork, Ijmuiden (the Netherlands) to finish in Hull in mid July 2010, more than 9,000 nautical miles!

With only a week sailing experience, I have decided to challenge myself, being stuck in my comfort zone for too long and started training at sea on 68ft boat in February 2009.

Doing this challenge I aim to raise funds to support Chestnut Tree House, Children's Hospice in Sussex. I would appreciate any donations to help for the care of the children and to support their families.

Thank you so much for your time and hope you can make a difference in sponsoring me!
