***UPDATE***
We did it!! Sunday dawned cloudy and a bit drizzly, but rapdily got nicer. 13,500 people lined up at the start so it was a bit of a scrum! The course was quite hilly but very well supported. My Dad came over to cheer which was brilliant (thanks Dad!). Graham finished in a personal best of 1h 31 (he came 310th overall), and I ran the whole thing and finished in 2h 12. Hurrah!! Thanks to everyone for your very generous support, it really means a lot to us and the orangs.

Hi folks,
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We're running the Nottingham half marathon (13.1 miles!) in aid of the World Land Trust (WLT).
WLT has an opportunity to purchase a vital piece of land in Borneo which connects two government-owned wildlife reserves. This protected corridor will create a viable reserve for orang-utans to live in. WLT needs to raise £343,364 over the next six months to secure the land. This will give a future to the estimated 604 orang-utans currently depending on these forests and protect many other rare and threatened species, including the Borneo Pygmy Elephant and the Proboscis Monkey. We visited Borneo in April; it's an amazing part of the world which desperately needs protection. You can see some of our photos on the left, including Merudu, an orphan orang-utan.
This is my first half marathon - I've been training like a demon and run nearly 300 miles and cycled 125 miles so far! I've also lost over 2 stone!! Graham has also been training really hard and this will be his fourth half marathon; he's aiming for a personal best of 1h 30. We're a very good cause so please, please sponsor us now - our fundraising target of £570 is one orang-utan's worth of forest!
