Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm a big man and I'm out of shape. Yet at the end of September I will running the Loch Ness Marathon. Innumerable training miles and 26.1miles of pain on the day: for why??

The National Trust for Scotland look after lots of the things that I love: mountains (Glencoe, Torridon, Kintail), islands (St Kilda, Staffa, Iona), iconic buildings (Craigevar, Drum, Culzean, Charlotte Square), battlefields (Culloden, Bannockburn), and so much more (wildlife, art, the Burns Museum, gardens) .....

I've been working for the Natural Trust for Scotland, looking at what it actually costs to look after all the things in the Trust's care.

It's been fascinating to examine all the things that the Trust does and the result has given me some perspective on the range and scale of our activities, on the people who make these things happen and this is my attempt to do my bit in making sure that we can hand over Scotland's treasures in good shape.
