British Heart Foundation - Everest Base Camp Trek · 11 March 2010 ·

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

We are taking part in the British Heart Foundation Trek to Everest Base Camp in March 2010!

Please sponsor us as much as you feel able...our minimum target is £6000....but the more we raise the better!

We've worked out we need to raise £1.07 for every metre we will climb...so perhaps you would like to sponsor us for 10, 20 or even 50 metres!

Heart disease is common.  We would be surprised if you couldn't think of a relative or a friend who has been affected by it, whether directly or by the loss of a relative. James' grandfather had a heart attack several years ago, luckily he recovered well. Not everyone is so fortunate.

By sponsoring us, you will be helping the British Heart Foundation continue their vital research into the prevention and treatment of every kind of heart disease.

This is no stroll to the pub...We are going to spend the next six months training to meet this challenge. . There is a high chance we will be affected by altitiude sickness! But we are going for slickness not sickness...so bring on the blistering hikes.

We have already hosted a fantastic fundraising concert featuring Louisa's sister and some of her professional singer friends many of whom perform in the West End. We are now "selling" 2010 calendars for donations of £8-10. The photos were all taken by James and can be seen on either of our facebook pages. Please find further details and follow our other fundraising and training activities on our blog at www.altitudeslickness.blogspot.com . Your suggestions and messages would be most welcome.

Thank you for helping us take one step closer to Everest and the British Heart Foundation one step closer to beating heart disease.

Best Wishes

James and Louisa
