I am a History student at the University of Greenwich and I will be running the Asics British 10k London Run to raise money for the university’s Alumni Fund. The Alumni Fund supports students with a disability or dyslexia by providing equipment and resources, helps those who are in extreme financial emergencies and provides library resources.
The idea of representing the university is something I’m really proud of. Any money that goes towards helping the uni is a good thing, and if I can help with that I’ll gladly play a part. The more that is raised the more improvements can be made and make everyone’s university experience the best it can be. Although I am in my last year now, I have had a wonderful three years at Greenwich and hope those who will join in the future can say the same thing.
Running is a huge part of my life. I’m a member of the Ashford athletics club and until a month ago regularly ran cross country races. Unfortunately I’ve been ill for a while and this run is a big part of my restart; it gives me the motivation to get out there and get fit again!
I’m really looking forward to the buzz of being in a big race again. As I’ve been away from the circuit for a while, this really is my way back in!
