Story

I did it! I completed Ironman UK 2011, which took place on 31st July in Bolton. Starting at 6am, this comprised a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride, and then a 26.2 mile run. My total time was 14 hours, 11 minutes, 29 seconds. www.ironmanuk.com

Sincere thanks to everyone who has supported me and donated to the Mango Tree. Thank you all for the messages left on this site and sent to me by text and email. This site will remain open until October for any donations, which go straight to the charity. I think I will now have a rest for a few weeks, and I am under orders to put some weight on!

The Mango Tree Orphan Support Programme cares for, educates, and gives hope to thousands of orphans of HIV/AIDS victims in Tanzania and Kenya. Without this help there would be no future for these children. The charity focuses not just on relief, but on initiatives that will make the region more self-dependent in the long term. As an example, as little as £45 pays for a secondary school place for a whole year. This charity does a huge amount of work with a tiny budget - your donation will make a difference. www.themangotree.org
