Retirement has started and Chris and I are not going to sit still.... this is our chance to help make a difference just by walking and at the same time enjoying the sights of South Africa.  We have 3 wonderful children and are very fortunate and wish to help others.

We will dust off our walking boots and walk 138 km in 6 days along the coast in November, and hope to not have blisters by the end of it.  The trek will follow the coastline from Cape Town south east to Die Dam - Cape Agulhas, where we will meet up with the group that are biking for the same cause.

Please help us in our quest to make a difference to the children that have been scalded or burnt, to aid their recovery and to euducate them to the dangers of paraffin and gas cooking.  Their permanent scars are terrible and the agony of healing is terrible for them.  The photos say it all.  Burns are the third most common death in children under 14 in South Africa, and the most common casue of death for the under 2's.  Terrrible, and so easily avoided by education.
