Story

Let's help save our UK Charities...

Karl, Rebecca, Daisy and Al (Daisy's dad) have joined forces to help raise money for LimbPower charity. This well-known charity is a vital bridge between the NHS prosthetic limb centres and the community supporting people with limb difference.

Sadly general fundraising has been hit hard since the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many smaller charities, including LimbPower, now struggle to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income.

Together this fierce and powerful group of amputees will play their small part to support our community - especially for a charity which supports them personally.

The team:

Chris - life coach, business owner, a lawyer specialising in disability catastrophic injury claims, cricketer, cricket coach, cyclist and hiker has joined the challenge team. Chris is an above knee amputee following an RTA in 2002. Chris uses his spare time to coach people with trauma using his coaching training and life experience.

Chris will be cycling 26k using peloton.

Karl - Is a right leg above the knee amputee who recently lost his leg two years ago. He is an ex-soldier and was medically discharged after 10 years service. Fitness fanatic who also competes in the Disabled Strongman competitions. Big heart even bigger determination and loves a challenge.

On Sunday 31st May. Karl will walk 26,000 steps in one day around his small garden.

Rebecca - was born with PFFD and had an amputation at 8 years old. She is a mother, model, disability activist, a health and fitness advocate. Last October she climbed Mt Kilimanjaro with LimbPower and now has the challenge bug and would now like to conquer the seven summits.

on Friday 29th May. Rebecca will attempt this challenge around her two small children to walk 26km in one day - approx 35,000 steps.

Kiera - became a right above the knee amputee 20 years ago after a road traffic accident. Founder and CEO of the charity LimbPower, a mother, disability campaigner and sport and physical activity advocate. Last October Kiera organised for a team of amputees to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. She is missing the mountain and her climbing buddies.

Kiera will attempt this challenge around her job as CEO of LimbPower and her children. She will climb Ben Nevis on her stairs. She will ascend her stairs 35 times a day for 14 days.

Rachel Morris MBE - is a British Paralympic sportswoman who has won Paralympic gold medals in both cycling and rowing. She took a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Paralympics and a bronze in 2012 as a hand cyclist, and eight years later at Rio, she won gold in the women's single sculls as a rower.

Rachel will be cycling, paddling and skiing (ski-Erg) 26 kilometres this weekend as part of the amputee team.

Daisy and Al - Daisy is a 9-year-old double above the knee amputee. She is a world-renowned child model and key speaker who has been involved in many campaigns and graced the catwalks for London, New York and Paris Fashion weeks. Her main goal in life is to inspire the world that anything is possible.

Al (Daisy's dad) supports Daisy in all of her adventures and is also a key speaker as he has overcome his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction.

Daisy will complete a relay of 26 cartwheels in a row on three consecutive days.

We appreciate it is a difficult time. Any contribution will be appreciated even if it is just the price of a drink or coffee!
