Story

Thank-you for visiting my Just Giving page.
As you can see from the title, I’m setting myself a pretty big challenge, to
raise £21,000 before I turn 21- September 2019.

This may seem a bit crazy and I’m sure many
of you are thinking why on earth I want to do this?!

In May 2018 my dad was diagnosed with
cancer. The stat may be that 1 in 2 people will receive cancer in their life
time, but having someone so close to you get the news, changes your world. It’s
sometimes hard to accept but we have to be thankful. Thankful for so many other
reasons.

Just because cancer is in your life, it
doesn’t mean that your life isn’t worth living. If anything, it teaches us all
even more to live life to the full.

As a family, we have been so lucky that my dad has now been healed from this awful disease.  Therefore I want to raise this money to say thank-you. Thank-you to all those amazing doctors and nurses who help hundreds of people everyday. The ICR continue every day to find those cures for cancer.

Over the next 15 months I will be pushing
myself to the limit. I already have a confirmed place in the London Marathon
2019 (which I can now say that my dad will be running with me! Talk about coming back with a bang...) ; I will be doing a sky dive, abseiling and a few more crazy things
in-between.

The money being raised will be going to The
Institute of Cancer Research. The Institute of Cancer Research is an amazing
charity which researches this very diverse and complex disease. With the money
I raise, it will be 1 step closer to helping those professionals defeat this
awful disease.

Thank-you so much for your donation.
However small or big, it all makes a difference and helps me become one step
closer to my target!

Just because cancer is in your life, it
doesn’t mean that you don’t have a life to live.
