Thanks for spending time going through my JustGiving page. I am currently participating in a programme called 'Community Media 4 Kenya' (CM4K). This programme is set up to make a difference.
It is community media project undertaking by a group of third year Media Studies student from the School of Art, Design & Media at the University of Brighton. Through CM4K, we are heading to Kenya in the coming January to share knowledge, exchange Information communication technologies' (ICTs) skills and learn through partnering with people in different cultures. We are well placed with our main focus to explore ways in which ICTs can be made accessible so that Kenyan communities can harness the benefits of the digital age to address their basic needs, develop the local economics, support small businesses, encourage social innovation and also develop medium for themselves to communicate and voice out their opinion.
In January 2015, we will be visiting schools and different areas in Kenya. We will spend time to educate them on the benefits of ICTs and train the trainers at the same time.
The trip is self-funded so that all of the money raised will be directly go into the funding of equipments needed in the training and education process. All these equipment purchased will be left with the Kenyan community groups for their future benefit. So, please donate to give them a chance to utilise and access to better ICTs and technical tools within rural and marginalised Kenyan communities. You can help the Kenyans by donating on this page wherever you are. Simply click 'donate' on this page to help. Even through we are Asians, we should not neglect people in another part of the world. Please help me raise as much money as I can.
Cheers, Amy Choi =D
