Story

Next year, on my 21st birthday, I have decided to run the 2019 London marathon for a charity very close to mine and my family’s hearts. I will be running in memory of my Uncle Darren who passed away 5 years ago after a battle with bowel cancer.

My uncle also ran the marathon followed by my cousins Gemma and Daniel who ran for their Dad in 2016 so I thought what better way to honour Darren’s memory than to follow in their footsteps...

I also want to run for my family who have always stayed so strong since Darren’s passing.. for Gem and Dan who inspire me every day, for my Auntie Jo who I admire for staying so strong, for my Nan who continues to love so much despite losing a son and for my mum who has continued to be my rock despite her losing her best friend. Last but not least I’m running for my grandad who is my constant inspiration in anything I do and I know would be running alongside me on the sidelines in April if he was still here today.

I’m running for everyone who’s lost someone special and them special someones we’ve all lost.

The aim is to raise as much money and awareness for Beating Bowel cancer as possible ... so any donations no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Love Amy x
