Hi all,

I am taking part in the Devizes to Westminster Canoe race over the Easter weekend with my friend Magnus. The event is 125 miles long and is undertaken non-stop in our class (senior doubles).

Paddy Ashdown (a winner in his class when he competed in the event) said that he knew of only one person in history that had a more miserable Easter!

All money raised by me shall go to Help Our Wounded which is a Royal Marines charity. 4000 Royal Marines have just deployed to Afghanistan so it really is a topical and worthwhile charity.

Enjoy your Easter and if you are anywhere near the Kennet and Avon canal or the Thames over the Easter break come and show your support! The forecast is for lots of sun!

UPDATE..... We completed the event in 36 hours and 23 mins! Fantastic support from Simon and Harry was essential to our success as were the many kind donations from all our sponsors all of whom provided a boost to our motivation....

Well done, of course, to Magnus for such a fantastic last minute step-in!
