Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

A big Thank you to every single one of you who has donated. This is where the research comes from, your kind hearts and your pockets.. The ultra was hard and a struggle towards the end but I completed it and enjoyed it too. It was good running most of the way and at the 85k mark I had to do alot of walking as my feet, ankles were suffering.

I think running will be on the shelf for a while now but Thank you all from the bottom of my heart in helping me raise this money for Cystic fibrosis.

Hello again people,

Its nearly that time again. I am now training for my third event the trans pennine trail ultra marathon. Its 100k long and I am really hoping i can do it in under 20 hours

As you all know My daughter Phoebe has Cystic Fibrosis from which she was diagnosed at birth.Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK's most common life-threatening inherited diseases and It is caused by a faulty gene that controls the movement of salt and water in and out of the cells within the body.Cystic Fibrosis affects the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, by clogging them with thick sticky mucus. This makes it hard to breathe and digest food.

  • Each week, five babies are born with Cystic Fibrosis.

Each week, two young lives are lost to Cystic Fibrosis.

Currently half of the CF population will live past 41 years of age, and improvements in treatments mean a baby born today is expected to live even longer

So you can see why I am so keen to contribute to helping find a cure as the majority of the money invested in research is Funded by CF families. We are a big community of fundraisers and when we all club together can achieve amazing amounts of money.

I am willing to put myself through a rediculouse amount of pain to raise money for this charity, anyone who knows me knows my knees are shot and they constantly stop me from training. This as I see it is nothing compared to watching a child struggle for every breath of air and battle numerous operations on their small fragile bodies just to want life and to be like everybody else.

So please join me on my challenge by digging deep and donating to the Justgiving page. I will be keeping regular training updates for you to watch me suffer and hopefully offer the encouragement I will more than likely need. You have all supported me so well when I did the Liverpool Marathon and I was overwhelmed by your kindness. Now its time for the big push lets do this!!!!
