Bupa Great North Run 2012 · 16 September 2012 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

Earlier this year a very good friend of mine, Stuart, lost his long and brave battle with leukaemia. He tried for 3 years to beat it but in the end it was just too much. He was only 38 and left behind his wife Sarah and little boy Kieran. It was a very difficult time for everyone who knew and loved Stuart. To lose someone dear in that manner and at such an early age is a very difficult to thing to understand.

It’s also difficult to know what to do that is a positive refection on the life of someone who is taken away too young. The best you can do is try and make sure it doesn’t happen again and another young family isn’t left without a fantastic father and husband. So from that, myself and some other of Stuart’s close friends decided we would do this year’s Great North Run in his honour and raise as much money as we can for Leukaemia Research.

My Just Giving web page is set up for anyone who would be good enough to donate just a little to this cause. Please, please don’t feel obliged but any donations would be incredibly appreciated and would certainly help me to get over the line. Lots of veggies too from now until the big day!
