Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

There are a staggering 670,000 calls or messages from children to the NSPCC each year and on average, every week in England and Wales at least one child is killed at the hands of another person. Genuinely ridiculous.

The NSPCC helps young people through ChildLine and many other projects - included in this was the creation of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) which resulted in the dismantling of 166 networks of sex offenders. ChildLine and CEOP would not be able to function without donations from kind people such as you.

I first worked with the NSPCC when I was a child myself and volunteering with another excellent charity - Takeover Radio.

The London Marathon is going to be quite a challenge as I have never ran further than a half before and as part of my training I have given up drinking - not a drop touched since December 2012.

Pence or pound or pounds - anything and everything will be very welcome and much appreciated.

Wish me luck!
