Story
Mental health isn't a particularly attractive topic, but that's the whole point. While it's easier to raise money for sick children or cute animals, most of us don't want to think about mental health issues. But the truth is that 1 in 4 of us will suffer from depressive illness alone at some point in our lives, and the attitudes of the other 3 often only add to the problem. Organisations like Mind take great strides in giving the care and understanding we need and work hard to destigmatise the problem.
On October 14th I'm putting myself through months of training and probably around 4 hours of hell on marathon day, and will need all the motivation I can get. But at the same time, I know there are so many others out there who face much greater problems every single day. Please sponsor me for this great cause. All donations of any amount, whether it's £1 or £10, will go a long way to helping those affected by mental health issues. Thank you!
Your money can go a long way, and here are a few examples of how it can be used:
£8.70 gives a lifeline to someone in desperate need of support by letting the Mind Infoline team take their call.
£30 could help us work with the government to promote mental health needs and improve services for years to come.
£150 could fund a local support group and let people living with mental health problems get back their confidence and self-esteem.
£250 could fund equipment for an art therapy group, so that people can express their feelings through art and start the healing process.
£500 could keep our Legal Advice Service open for a day, helping people understand their rights and receive practical legal advice on mental health issues.
Thanks again!
