In memory of Angela Vaz

Georgia Vaz is raising money for The Fountain Centre
In memory of Angela Vaz
The Fountain Centre provides a caring environment for patients newly diagnosed with cancer, in order to balance the traditional approaches to cancer treatment with a range of complementary therapies and individual support.

Story

Angela sadly passed away this year on the 30th August after battling cancer since 2002 intermittently. The first time she was diagnosed with breast cancer was cured, however 10 years later in 2013 she unfortunately developed low-volume metastatic bone disease which she fought well until this year.

Angela was a patient, thoughtful and courageous mother, sister, wife and friend. Over the last few years she had been involved in a lot of charity work, specifically donating towards St Luke's Cancer Centre who had done an incredible job of looking after her whilst she was ill. Angela had taken part in various treks including Ben Nevis, The Great Wall of China and the Transylvanian Alps with her good friends Carol, Jayne & Wendy.

The Fountain Centre is a small independent cancer charity located on level B within St Luke's Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey Hospital. It was in my mum's wishes to accept donations for this charity as it was an integral part of her life and she cared about it dearly.

We are so distraught to have lost an incredible woman in our lives but we will always cherish our everlasting memories of her. Angela really was one of the most kind, generous and selfless people and did so well to have battled her illness for so many years. We will always look up to her in awe.
