Marathon des Sables · 8 April 2016

An award-winning organisation that defends the rights of indigenous Quechua young people and artisans in the Andes of Peru.

Story

In April I'll be running the equivalent of five and a half marathons in six days across the Saraha desert in temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I'll be the first Peruvian ever to compete. I'm partnering with my employers and friends at Ceviche Peruvian Restaurant to support Amantani charity which helps disadvantaged children in the Peruvian Andes.

I'll be carrying all my own food and equipment with me, sleeping in a tent every night before getting up the next day to complete the next stage of the race. I'm training up at the moment, currently I'm training 6 days a week, trying to run as many marathons as I can in training and making sure I eat enough Peruvian superfoods to keep my body going.

I'm so grateful to Martin Morales, Harry Jameson and Asics for sponsoring and supporting me so I can take part.
