We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Why have I chosen to abseil down Battersea Power Station?

a)  I'm utterly insane and figured this would challenge my fear of heights!!  Oh Nooooo, what have I done?  (I really do feel sick at the thought of it!)

b)  Battersea Power Station has been a building I've loved seeing on the riverbanks of the Thames... and also hated it being empty and unloved.  It's soon to be redeveloped and I truly hope the iconic towers will remain a part of our landscape.

c) To raise some funds for The Stroke Association who fund research, awareness and offer support.

- Estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke every year, that'll be one every 5 minutes.

- Stroke accounts for around 53,000 deaths each year in the UK.

- Strokes mostly occur in the over 65s however 10,000 people under the age of 30 will have a stroke each year (including babies).

- The impact of a disability from a stroke can be chronic and affect not only the stroke victim but also the family and friends.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

£100 could provide a day-long course for a member of staff fro health or social care.

£150 could provide a 'Life after Stroke' grant for a person affected by stroke.

So please dig deep and donate now.
