Story
As most of you know, nearly a year ago on the 27th July 2008 my mother lost her battle against Multiple Myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow) and passed away. During her 3 1/2 year courageous battle with the disease she looked forward to visiting St Lukes Hospice Kenton every Wednesday for a day of respite care and she always commented on how kind all the staff and volunteers were at the hospice. St Luke's looks after people with cancer and other serious progressive illnesses free of charge . It is an Independent Charity receiving less than a third of their funding from government. Myself, my father and brother are very grateful for all their help and support during this time and I would like, with your help, to give something back to this great charity.
As you also all know, one year on sees me looking somewhat different ! Having shed just over 6 stone I have decided to run the London 10K on 12th July in memory of my mother. I know that on race day she will be looking over me ( as she seems to do every time I am out for a run) willing me on to the finishing line. I would therefore like to ask you all to make a donation to this fantastic charity by sponsoring me. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Luke's Hospice (Kenton Grange) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Whatever you can give will be so gratefully received and I thank you all for your kind support.
Annie xx
PS: If anyone wants a good laugh then please feel free to meet me at the finishing line on Sunday 12th July. I will be the one in the ambulance with an oxygen mask !
