I am participating in the Great North Run 2009 (half marathon) with my partner, Lorraine.  We have good reason to support Macmillan Cancer Support as we both lost parents to cancer. When my dad was terminally ill, Macmillan provided fantastic support to him and our family.  Until his illness, my dad was always fit and active.  He got so much enjoyment from walking and being outside whatever the weather.  I am running in memory of him.
