Story
So far this year I have published a book and started exercising daily and eating less, so the obvious next thing to do is to climb the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in a 24 hour period! OK maybe not so obvious but I am doing it in aid of a good cause, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children - see details to the left.
Some friends and I from Oracle have decided to take on the Three Peaks Challenge in July - climbing to the top of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all within 24 hours.
I have now spent weeks in training walking up and down stairs at the office, and even managed a couple of training walks in the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley. So now I am very nervous as I have a better idea of the insanity that has gripped me. My only defense is that I am desperate to show that I am nt over the hill and I want to raise some money for a good cause!
We have chosen to use the challenge to raise money for the NSPCC, who as well as running Childline and the NSPCC Helpline, run 180 community-based projects in the UK and the Channel Islands. Please help me to raise as much as possible for this great cause.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
