Various members of the RAF Hannover Airport Unit, are participating in the Paderborn Osterlauf (3rd April) and the Hannover Airport Run (17th April), in 10km and Half Marathon disciplines. By raising over £600 for the British Legion and for a local German school in 2009, we want to beat that target this year with your ongoing help and support.

This year we are fundrasing for the RAF Association (RAFA). RAFA is a membership organisation of serving and former members of the Royal Air Force, their families and dependants. It is the largest single-service membership organisation in the United Kingdom and has roughly 74,000 members and 500 Branches in the UK, Europe and further afield. The Association provides help and advice, assistance, comradeship and, where required, welfare and care for the whole RAF family.

www.paderborner-osterlauf.de/  The Paderborn Osterlauf is one of Germanys oldest running events. It was formed after World War 2 to 'bring the people together'. With large support and big name sponsors, this is one of the most popular running events in Germany, attracting over 7,000 participants, including some of the worlds top athletes. 

www.airportrun2010.de/2010/  The Hannover Airport run is now in its third year. Ran by a large majority of the unit last year, this run takes place through the airport grounds, and the local town of Langenhagen. With this being our local working environment at Hannover Airport, we feel a good strong representation of the RAF is essential to build bridges with the local community.
