Arabella Hastie is raising money for Shooting Star Children's Hospices
Story
Shooting Star Chase is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.I was inspired by saddlesandsea (www.saddlesandsea.com) who have crossed Europe, Sahara and the Atlantic for Shooting Star Chase so I felt that the least I could do was run 26.2 miles!
Having started running with the dogs a few years ago I did a 5k, graduating to a half marathon and now taking on the big one. I have never run this far before, and its a big step up in my running. I'm motivated by the chance to help the children and families at Shooting Star Chase. I'd really appreciate your support to keep me going.
Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are here to make every moment count. They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care in Hampton (where I grew up ) and Guildford.
It costs £10 million a year just to maintain their current level of care. Around 10% of that income comes from government funding, so they rely on supporters’ generosity to keep the service running.
